Brampton Nighttime Santa Claus Parade

Saturday, November 21, 2026 · 5 p.m. · Free

Presented by Rotary with the City of Brampton, the 32nd Nighttime Santa Claus Parade sends lit floats and bands north from Bramalea Road and Central Park Drive, then east along North Park Drive to Jordan Boulevard. Dress warmly and arrive early for a curbside spot. See Santa Claus parades in Peel.

Downtown tree lighting

Brampton lights its Christmas tree in downtown’s Ken Whillans Square with its Miracle on Main Street celebration in late November (it was November 29 in 2025), with photos with Santa and family activities. The Gage Park skating trail usually opens around the same time.

Christmas markets

  • Annual Brampton Christmas Market, Shoppers World Brampton, November 21 and 22
  • Holly Jolly Christmas Market, Bramalea Celtic Club, November 22
  • Church and library markets through November, including St. Paul’s United Church on Main Street South

See Christmas markets in Mississauga and Brampton.

Free outdoor skating

Brampton has some of the GTA’s best free outdoor skating:

  • Gage Park skating trail, Main Street South and Wellington Street West, downtown
  • Chinguacousy Park skating trail, 9050 Bramalea Road
  • Gore Meadows covered rink, 10150 The Gore Road, often the first to open
  • Sandalwood Park, two NHL-size rinks

Hours in recent seasons have generally been 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.; check the City of Brampton before you go, as rinks close during warm spells. See outdoor skating near Toronto.

Giving back

The City runs a food and toy drive in early December with drop-off points at City Hall, community centres and libraries.

Brampton’s diverse holiday season

Brampton is one of Canada’s most diverse cities, and its holiday season reflects that. Alongside Christmas events, you’ll find community celebrations, South Asian and Caribbean holiday food, and New Year’s events. Brampton’s restaurants and bakeries are a great place to try Caribbean black cake or other festive treats. See Caribbean Christmas in Toronto.

Tips for the nighttime parade

  • Arrive by 4:15 p.m. to get a spot near the front.
  • Bring blankets and folding chairs; it gets cold fast after dark.
  • Light up: glow sticks and flashlights help kids stay visible.
  • Check road closures on the City of Brampton’s website and plan to park a few blocks away.
